110 Series EC49/40 Bottom by Cane Creek
Form and function come together on the Cane Creek 110 Series EC49/40 bottom headset assembly. With smooth rotation that's as reliable as the ground we stand on (unless you live on a fault line, in which case, more reliable than the ground you stand on), and aesthetics that are on point, whether going with the classic glossy black, or color matching componentry. This lower assembly captures the classic beautify of a traditional headset, with bearings housed outside of the head tube, and is set for a life that may well surpass your own with its durable construction, and top level stainless steel sealed cartridge bearings that provide buttery steering for years, plus it's backed by a 110 year no-questions-asked warranty. Machined in North Carolina from US made 7075 T-6 aluminum, the 110 series features some of the highest grade materials available, and its quality and precision rivals that of a Chris King headset, which for years stood above the rest. Like Chris King, they are made in the USA, but unlike Chris King, the Cane Creek 110 series opts for an alloy crown race and compression ring under the top bearing cover to add extra security. The compression ring facilitates easy assembly and eliminates the possibility of rocking or creaking regardless of the small variations often found in steer tube diameters. And for lightweight carbon fiber steer tubes, the extra surface area over other systems does its best to ensure a damage-free compressive junction. With the external cup design, this headset adds 12mm to your stack height, and enables you to convert your head tube to whatever your needs may be. The Cane Creek 110-Series ZS56/40 bottom assembly is designed to mate a fork with a 1-1/8" - 1. 5" tapered steer tube to a tapered head tube having a 49mm inner diameter on bottom.
