The quickest way to kill your adrenaline buzz on a shred-heavy day is by getting a flat tire, or worse, taco-ing your rim. With this in mind, the engineers at ENVE have been working away, delving deep into the science of the rim to create a carbon fiber rim that will allow you to charge to the max without compromising your ride with unnecessarily high tire pressure, heavy DH tires, and cumbersome inserts to reduce pinch-flats. We get to reap the fruits of the seeds they spent so much time sowing with the ENVE M735 29in Boost Wheelset. The M735 takes inspiration from its predecessor, the M70, but has been re-profiled to mate better with modern tires, so that they can absorb trail vibrations and withstand harder riding. Harder riding often involves heading into dusty corners at higher speeds, and nothing can spook you faster than an unexpected drift from running your tire's a bit too firm, so ENVE's designers took special care to redesign the rim so that it can be run at lower tire pressures that allow a better contact patch to the trail, keeping you connected even when the terrain is loose. Enabling these lower pressures, along with the reshaped rim, is ENVE's Protective Rim Strip that provides extended durability without the weight of a rim insert. The Protective Rim Strip improves impact resistance so when you inevitably blow through a tire on a drop to flat it doesn't mean your rim will be doomed, too. Like its predecessor, the M735 uses downhill-specific carbon laminates that come from the M90 line to give aggressive riders the confidence they need for dare-devil downhill stints, with the option to climb efficiently when your shuttle takes off for the day or the chairlifts close. The girthy rim-width of the M735 helps to increase this contact patch, with an inner rim width of 35mm that begs for a bigger tire, from the 2. 5-inch wide-trail all the way up to a 2. 8-inch plus tire. When combining the extra girth along with the redesigned, more robust rim desig...

The pika is a close relative of the rabbits and hares, with two upper incisors on each side of the jaw, one behind the other. Being rock-gray in color, pikas are seldom seen until their shrill, metallic call reveals their presence.
