Given a choice, we'll forgo taking a rain jacket with us if we can. So if it's just sprinkling out and not a full-on deluge, where we'd probably just stay inside to ride anyways, we'll reach for the G-Shield Jersey from Giordana and enjoy a dry ride free from a flapping jacket. It's designed to fit like a jersey because well, it is, yet provides some serious protection this side of a full-on rain cape. Made with the Super Roubaix Aqua Zero fabric, the G Shield Jersey has a soft, brushed inner-loft that traps warmth and allows moisture to escape. Super Roubaix AZ features a water-repellent, Acqua Zero treatment that bonds with the fabric on a nano-level to keep you dry. For added resilience, the jersey is constructed from a minimal number of contoured panels. This design reduces the number of panels to minimize the potential amount of seams for water to penetrate. These panels also have an anatomic fit around the torso and arms, and they maintain a high amount of stretch due to the interlocking knit of Super Roubaix. To keep you warm, and to keep the elements out, G Shield uses a silicone heat application at the seams to fill the needle punctures from the stitching, creating a watertight seal that'll keep cold rain from sneaking in. Rounding out the construction, a reversed, full-length Camlock zipper lets you adjust the opening of your jersey for on-the-fly ventilation. The Camlock allows you to open your jersey with a single-handed operation. When you flip the lock back down, your zipper will stay in place. The G Shield takes a water-resistant approach, not only on the seams, but on the pockets, too. Three rear, fold-over cargo pockets provide ample storage for your ride nutrition and essentials, while protecting them from the elements. For visibility in low-light conditions, a highly-reflective stripe is sewn laterally across the back of the jersey.

Maine ocean islands provide the only nesting sites for Atlantic puffins in the United States. Eastern Egg Rock in the midcoast region, Seal Island and Matinicus Rock at the mouth of Penobscot Bay, and Machias Seal Island and Petit Manan Island off the downeast coast provide habitat for more than 4,000 puffins each summer.
