The Ibis Exie is just as capable on the World Cup cross-country race circuit as it is shredding the local high-alpine trails right here in our Utah-based backyard. The frame is hand-built in Santa Cruz California and weighs just under 4. 5 pounds with the shock installed. 100mm of highly efficient DW-Link suspension gives us insane amounts of rear-wheel traction for crushing the descents and an incredibly supportive pedaling platform. The geometry numbers really drive home that this bike is built for flat-out speed with a 67. 2-degree headtube angle to deliver razor-sharp handling and a steep seat tube angle putting us right over the pedals so we can put down insane amounts of power and pass our competition on the climbs. Plus room for two water bottles in the front triangle keeps hydration close by and an integrated upper chain guide keeps us free from dropped chains when we drop the hammer. This Ibis Exie XT build is spec'd to the nines with everything we need to be in contention for a podium spot this season. Shimano's 12-speed XT drivetrain takes care of the shifting duties with reliable precision and a wide gear range to get us up just about any climb and a pair of XT brakes ensure we're able to modulate our speed through tight twists and turns. A Fox Factory 34 fork with 120mm of travel nicely compliments the 100mm of DW-Link suspension out back to help us navigate the increasingly gnarly XC race courses we've started to see while a pair of 29-inch Ibis 933 aluminum wheels deliver lightweight bombproof performance.
