When we saddle up on our steeds and prepare to tackle the trail ahead, the only place we want to hear the word "limits" used is when we are discussing ways to push well beyond them. We'd prefer to take things from an unorthodox approach, unlimited by conventional views of what we can or can't do on the trail -- after all, if women before us had let old-fashioned ways of the past dictate their lives, we may not even find ourselves on mountain tops, conquering rock rolls and beefy drops. Thankfully, strong minded mavericks have paved the way (or more appropriately, built the trails), putting us in the forefront of the game, freely tackling technical lines and showering dirt over the nay-sayers. And so we think that Juliana's new Maverick Carbon S Mountain Bike is aptly named, with its 140mm of supple, yet plush, VPP suspension that eats up obstacles, and slacked out geometry that transitions from gravity beast to climbing machine with the flip of a chip. The Maverick takes you beyond the world of frilly shrink-it-and-pink-it rides, and rolls with wagon wheels to cover miles of uncharted territory well beyond the beaten path. We know we're not alone when we say our riding temperament changes from day to day, and we don't think our bike should limit that, which is why we're thankful that Juliana implements an integrated flip-chip to change the Maverick's geometry from one ride to another. All you need to do is grab a hex-wrench and in a flash you can slacken the head tube, and drop the bottom bracket for an extra planted feel when you're craving some lift-access rowdiness that challenges the sum of the bike's numbers. With the flip chip in the lower position, the head tube is stretched out to a long-and-low 65. 2-degrees (compared to 65. 5 in high), and bottom bracket height lowers 4-millimeters to keep you lower to the ground and more stable when gravity takes over. In practice, this enables the Maverick to switch from a climb-conquering trail queen to an all-out en...

The pika is a close relative of the rabbits and hares, with two upper incisors on each side of the jaw, one behind the other. Being rock-gray in color, pikas are seldom seen until their shrill, metallic call reveals their presence.
