The way we see it, winter cycling has one big plus and one big minus. The plus is that you add to your fitness; the minus comes when you start subtracting seconds and minutes from your PRs come spring. If you're after those marginal gains, the P. R. O. AmFIB Super Gloves are Pearl Izumi's nuclear option for winter hand protection, and they mean you'll be able to eke out those gains in form while your competition is at home watching football and fattening up on holiday leftovers. The gloves are equipped with Pearl's P. R. O. Softshell membrane, whose wind-resistant properties are further reinforced with a DWR treatment. The membrane combines all three of Pearl's other fabrics (Transfer, Thermal, and Barrier) in order to fend off the elements, retain body heat, and banish internal moisture. It protects 170g Primaloft Gold insulation, which isn't quite on par with the heaviest ski gloves, but--compared to the civilian AmFIB's 130g and virtually every other cycling glove available--it's equal to all but the deepest of winter chills on the bike. The P. R. O. Barrier WxB lining houses another membrane in the form of OutDry, a technology we don't often see in cycling kit. OutDry is waterproof and breathable, both of which are common traits for membranes in this type of winter kit. OutDry outclasses the competition in terms of application, though; it's heat-bonded to the host material, producing a seam- and gap-free construction that outlasts whatever deluge you happen to find yourself cycling in. Of course, some cyclists would rather miss out on training in that kind of weather; we suspect they'll also miss out on the podiums of April and May. Pearl finishes the P. R. O. AmFIB Super with a few functional details that may lack the shiny-new-toy bling of the membranes but are non-negotiable inclusions when it comes to winter gloves. The Clarino palms help to maintain bar feel and provide grip on slippery hoods, reflective details help keep you visible in low-light condit...

Rising above a scene rich with extraordinary wildlife, pristine lakes, and alpine terrain, the Teton Range stands monument to the people who fought to protect it. These are mountains of the imagination. Mountains that led to the creation of Grand Teton National Park where you can explore over two hundred miles of trails, float the Snake River or enjoy the serenity of this remarkable place.
The pika is a close relative of the rabbits and hares, with two upper incisors on each side of the jaw, one behind the other. Being rock-gray in color, pikas are seldom seen until their shrill, metallic call reveals their presence.
