Trail 429 Carbon 27.5+ Race XT Mountain Bike by Pivot
The Trail 429 checks off all the major boxes for contemporary race machines. Slacker' Yep. Longer' Mm-hmm. Pedals like a bike with an inch less travel' Oh yeah. It draws obvious parallels from the iconic performance offered by the Mach 429 Trail, building upon the previous model's strengths and updating a few things to make it all the more confident and capable as you plow through chunder, lean into berms at high speeds, and plunge into rocky descents. One of biggest changes with the new model is the ability to run either 29-inch or 27. 5+ wheel sizes, so you can really optimize your trail riding set-up to your particular terrain and individual riding style. This particular build features 27. 5+ wheels rolling on 2. 8-inch Maxxis Rekon Tires for voluminous support and massive grip where you'd previously struggle to find ample traction, such as loose dirt, sandy sections, and rock-strewn trails. Perhaps the most natural place to start when diving into the new Trail 429 is with its completely reshaped frame that gives the bike its progressive geometry. Unlike the smooth swooping top and down tubes we saw on the Mach 429 Trail, the Trail 429 is a bit more direct, with a more angular approach that brings the bike into the cutting edge with clean lines, a slacker head tube to instill confidence and composure on steep lines packed with chunky granite, and a steep seat tube that keeps you dialed in the cockpit when you push your way up punchy switchbacks laced with root lattices. On top of this new geometry, the Trail also sees a feature we've been longing for over the past generations: internal cable routing. This makes for a cleaner setup with cables that are neatly tucked away, and its done without upping the price from its externally-routed forefather. We've had a sneaking suspicion that Pivot's Super Boost spacing wasn't just for the Switchblade, and the new Trail confirms it with a stretched out rear hub that boasts a whopping 157mm width. This wide hub means a ...

The pika is a close relative of the rabbits and hares, with two upper incisors on each side of the jaw, one behind the other. Being rock-gray in color, pikas are seldom seen until their shrill, metallic call reveals their presence.
