From enduro racing to sending gnarly lines the Santa Cruz Nomad is at the top of our list of highly capable mixed-wheel shred sleds. Purpose-built around a mixed-wheel setup the Nomad gets a 29-inch wheel up front for navigating black-diamond descents with ease and a playful 27. 5-inch rear wheel for popping off jumps and roosting berms. 170mm of VPP rear travel ensures the Nomad is ready for whatever we throw at it and it sports a revamped leverage curve with lower anti-squat values to minimize the harshness from square-edge impacts. The Nomad Carbon CC X01 Eagle Air is smartly spec'd with high-end components that shave as much weight as possible while maintaining the durability and dependability needed for enduro racing. The ultra-light Carbon CC frame construction gets a size-specific layup process ensuring every size rider gets the same balanced ride feel. The SRAM X01 Eagle 12-speed drivetrain handles our shifting duties with precision and gives us a wide gear range so we're not feeling over or under-geared out on the course. Factory-level Fox suspension components supply a plush yet responsive ride feel with a seemingly bottomless Float X2 shock and a torsionally-stiff 170mm Factory 38 fork. 4-piston SRAM Code RSC brakes give us the speed modulation we demand for tackling steep sections while a pair of Race Face ARC Offset 30 perfectly balances stiffness and compliance for a smooth ride.
