Smith updated the versatile Kids' Scout Jr MIPS Helmet with the Multi-directional Impact Protection System to give greater protection while skiing snowboarding and mountain biking. MIPS allows a small rotation of the outer shell relative to the liner when heads hit at angled crashes in order to decrease rotational forces. Apart from MIPS this Scout Jr has the same features and construction as the original Scout Jr. It has all the comfort and safety features needed for rocketing downhill and is certified for both snow and bike helmet standards.
