Positioned between the enduro-winning SB150 and the more XC-focused SB115 likes the goldilocks of Yeti's trail bike lineup--the SB130. It's the bike we'd choose if we could only have one steed in our stable something for big mileage days and double black diamond trails alike. On the SB130 we find that the 130mm of Switch Infinity rear travel paired with a 150mm FOX fork is more than enough to get the job down without feeling under-biked on steep trails or over-biked on climbs or slow-speed tech. Componentry-wise this bike is about as good as it gets coming equipped with XX1 AXS FOX Factory suspension and dropper and tough-but-light DT Swiss alloy wheels. Yeti bikes have a very distinct ride feel and it's largely attributable to the engineering behind the Switch Infinity rear suspension platform. The beginning and middle parts of the travel have high anti-squat values to optimize pedaling performance which is very noticeable on the trail as the bike rockets forward almost effortlessly with minimal unwanted suspension movement. As the Switch Infinity Link hits the inflection point anti-squat values drop chain forces are decoupled from the suspension. This provides a truly bottomless feel in the deeper parts of the travel. The SB130's race-inspired geometry takes a balanced approach with a 65. 5-degree head tube that's slack enough to be stable at speed but not too slack to slow down the steering in tight switchbacks. The reach is generous at 18. 9-inches for a size large offering plenty of room to move around without feeling cramped. A 77-degree seat tube perches us aptly for the climbs and 17-inch chainstays allow quick manuals and wheelies without sacrificing stability.
