SB5 LR Turq XT M8100 Mountain Bike - 2019 by Yeti Cycles
When it's time for the company's daily lunch ride, Yeti employees reach for the SB5 LR. The rowdy trails near their headquarters in Golden, CO are not to be taken lightly, so this "Lunch Ride" version of the bike comes with some burly upgrades that offer an advantage on technical trails filled with rocks and drops. This comes in the form of a longer travel fork that stabilizes the front end, an upgraded DPX2 piggyback shock that improves traction at the rear wheel, powerful 4-piston brakes to keep your speed in check, and wide handlebars for added control on tricky maneuvers and high-speed descents. That being said, the bike pedals just as well as the standard SB5, so you won't be held back when you have to climb several thousand feet before you get to the fun part. While the forks on other LR specimens increase in stanchion size, the base SB5 Turq fork's is already a 36, so there's nowhere else to go. Except deeper. Which it does, adding a cool 10mm of travel for a bit more funkiness. That may be why Yeti specs the bike with slightly smaller tires, counting on the additional fork squish to keep the trail in check while the 2. 4in tires in front and rear, respectively, reduce the floppy, sloppy feel of larger tires. The bar's 20mm of additional width makes for that much more torque on climbs and sharper handling at low speeds. As the frame itself is identical to the SB5, the Switch Infinity remains the same, which is a very good thing. In short, Switch Infinity utilizes a patented translating pivot that switches direction as the bike moves through its travel. This provides excellent anti-squat characteristics for superior pedaling performance and ideal suspension kinematics as it gets deeper into the travel. The linear path of the patented Switch Infinity system has very little resistance as the shock moves through its stroke. This allows the system to achieve seemingly contradictory characteristics. In the early stage of the travel, it displays superior peda...

The pika is a close relative of the rabbits and hares, with two upper incisors on each side of the jaw, one behind the other. Being rock-gray in color, pikas are seldom seen until their shrill, metallic call reveals their presence.
