This road trip includes parks: Voyageurs National Park, Isle Royale National Park, Chequamegon National Forest, Ottawa National Forest and more!
Voyageurs National Park lies in the southern part of the Canadian Shield, representing some of the oldest exposed rock formations in the world. This bedrock has been shaped and carved by at least four periods of glaciation. The topography of the park is rugged and varied; rocky outcrops are interspersed between bogs, beaver ponds, swamps, islands, small lakes and four large lakes.
Wolves and moose, the wild North Woods forest, ever changing weather and a cool climate, and the crystal clear waters and rugged shoreline of Lake Superior characterize Isle Royale National Park.
Visit these parks and more on the Voyageurs, Isle Royale and Ottawa Road Trip. Use this self-guided route to help you plan a trip through Minnesota and Wisconsin. Stay in towns like Minneapolis, Grand Portage, Ashland, Duluth and more!
