North Springfield Lake

Description:

The lake offers fishing for largemouth bass and other warmwater species. The boat ramp is open to canoes and small, flat-bottomed boats only. Nearby Stoughton Pond is stocked with rainbow trout and has a 5-mph limit. Facilities include a swim beach, drinking water, picnic tables, grills, and restrooms. Fees may apply for some facilities. Featured Wildlife
The pika is a close relative of the rabbits and hares, with two upper incisors on each side of the jaw, one behind the other. Being rock-gray in color, pikas are seldom seen until their shrill, metallic call reveals their presence.
